Rise in Coronavirus Deaths Spurs Calls for Tighter Lockdown in Italy

Italy recorded the world’s highest death toll in a day from the new coronavirus on Friday, adding to pressure on the government to tighten a lockdown that is showing little sign of reining in the outbreak.
